BeCommander
BeCommander is a file management tool written to incorporate the functionality of other commander style applications such as Windows Commander, or Midnight Commander. Much of the functionality is similar, however BeCommander allows a few additional things such as Multi-Pane browsing, and multi-threading. BeCommander can view up to 10 directories simultaneously, and all copy, or move operations that can be very time consuming are spawned off into a separate thread allowing the user to continue using BeCommander to do other work. Our Review: BeCommander is a file manager for BeOS. It is very similar in functionality to Windows Explorer, incorporating all the usual functions (such as 'find' and 'copy'), with a few less-usual ones (such as 'multi-pane' browsing). It also has a 'Zip-O-Matic' add-on feature, which allows easy compression of files from the application. A program like this is a must for any BeOS user, and BeCommander is a worthwhile choice.
