Max for Linux is inspired by such Xbase products as Clipper, FoxPro and dBASE. It allows you to compile and run Xbase code on the Linux platform. (You can also recompile for 32-bit Windows using Max DOS32/W.) Includes ODBC support and access to FoxPro, Clipper and dBASE files with native locking. (Web development possible with Max Server Pages module.)
In addition to classic character-based applications, Max also supports web systems. Using a separate Max Server Pages web server plugin, you can access SQL databases or DBF files from HTML templates.
