Elvis is a clone of vi/ex, the standard UNIX editor.Elvis supports nearly all of the vi/ex commands,in both visual mode and ex mode.Elvis adds support for multiple files, multiple windows, a variety ofdisplay modes, on-line help, and other miscellaneous extensions. Our Review: A nice, easy to use Linux Text Editor, based on the original Unix Text editor. Mainly designed for those that are serious about there text editors, Elvis may be a little different to the average text editors that most users are used to using. It can read files in hex too. It has a full X-Windows GUI and supports HTML viewing. Quite good!
