NOVA was written with the intent of creating a stable, application based screen saver. Most of the screen savers available do a lot of system trap patching via extensions, which introduce a factor of uncertainty in your system. NOVA does not patch any OS routines, but instead is completely application driven -- when it is appropriate (based on user settings), NOVA will launch it's "Saverlet" applications that will do the screen saving. Our Review: NOVA is a new type of screensaver that avoids the messiness of typical screensavers - NOVA runs as a background application and thus adheres to proper system 'house-cleaning'. There are a wide selection of screensaver mods included in the NOVA package and NOVA allows sleep-now/sleep-never corners to be set up easily. NOVA even allows wake-up events to be configured so that you can avoid waking up the computer by accidentally bumping the mouse - choose it to wake up with a keypress instead. NOVA even has security-password logging and will run correctly on multiple monitor setups.
