Here are some explanations about the icons.
Kinara - A candle holder with seven candles. The Black candle is lit first. An additional candle is lit each day of Kwanzaa.
Mkeka - A mat upon which mazao and muhindi are placed.
Kibombe Cha Umoja - The Unity Cup. Everyone who takes part in the Kwanzaa celebration drinks from the Unity Cup.
Muhindi - Corn. One ear of corn is placed on the mkeka for each child in the household.
Mazao - Fruits and vegetables of the harvest.
Zawadi - Simple gifts of heritage objects or handcrafted items.
Our Review: These icons relate to the Kwanzaa harvest festival in Africa. They are the older-style 256 colour icons and therefore unfortunately look a little blocky on new Macs. Included is an informative read-me file detailing the significance of the icons to Kwanzaa.
