Our Review: Using the WASTE Text Engine, Jedit is a text editor with Japanese textual support (if running a Japanese version of MacOS). It's use isn't limited to Japanese applications at all though - Jedit allows the importing and embedding of multimedia files into your documents and has an excellent built-in search to quickly locate files on your hard drive that contain specified text. Jedit is very useful for programming applications in that each line can be optionally numbered down the margin and jump-to line/paragraph commands exist. Unicode (Hex) conversions on text can be easily performed and, aside from an abundance of formatting and alignment options, extensive macro and applescript capabilities are included.
