FriezingWorks is a freeware HyperCard stack which creates friezes from what you draw using the seven frieze groups. It has two purposes. For those interested in transformation geometry, it can be used to demonstrate and/or explore the seven frieze groups. For people who aren't so mathematically minded, FriezingWorkz can simply be used to make nice frieze patterns for use in borders or other artwork. All you have to do is draw a base pattern and choose which frieze group you'd like to use for
the frieze - FriezingWorkz adds extra black pixels to make sure the pattern has the required symmetries, and then makes the frieze.
Our Review: FriezingWorkz claims to draw geometrtic patterns based on frieze geometry - unfortunately it has a few bugs at this stage - namely the noticeable lack of any functionality; it was only able to draw the first in a long series of friezes which essentially looks like a square with bits missing - anything beyond that caused crazy "can't copy - try background" errors. If you know what friezes actually are you may want to try fiddling with this stack to make it work - otherwise wait for an update. (Requires Hypercard or Hypercard Player).
