Diondine is a nutrition software which estimates the ideal weight and the caloric requirements. For people on a diet, Diondine is a valuable companion by allowing the monitoring of the food intakes on a day to day basis.Several analyzis are proposed : detailed reports for 19 nutrients, food pyramid, food podium, weight curve, dietsimulator. Custom foods and meals can be created. Various help systems are available : complete on-line documentation, description screens, tooltips and 'scenarios' describing most functions. Diondine runs only on PPC Macintoshes. Diondine is also available for Linux and Windows PC. Our Review: While probably not the most comprehensive piece of nutitional software available - Diondine still has everything you will realistically need to monitor your weight and analyze your diet and is delivered with an irresistably tongue-in-cheek interface (for instance while inputting your height and weight the programs squishes and stretches the image of a half naked person accordingly) which is a nice change from some of the cold, clinical looks many health programs go for. There is a good range of dietry information available, and with the ability to create and plan your own healthy meals Diondine is perfect for those who want to take the scientifc approach to healthier living. Other attractive features include a helpful running tutorial you can always revert to if you get a little lost and a fascinating ideal weight graph that 15 ideal weight formulae from the Insurance Company ideal to that of renaissance Europe - useful, educational and fun.
