MailCall is an e-mail notification application. While running, MailCall preforms periodic checks of your account(s) and notifies you when new mail has arrived or when you have mail in your box. MailCall can be especially useful for people who use email a lot and don't want to keep a large application, such as Outlook Express, open in the background hogging your RAM and CPU time. MailCall will notify you when mail has arrived in any of your accounts and then you can launch your favorite email application with the click of a button and go fetch that new mail. MailCall only runs for 15 minutes (per launch) until it is registered.
Our Review: MailCall will check your email accounts (including Yahoo! accounts) for new email and provide you with the headers and the senders' name. This is one of the few email-checkers I have seen that provide meaningful error info such as "bad password" and "bad account". MailCall can be set up to check every 'x' minutes but can also be set up to hold-off notifying you of new email until the time is on the hour - this allows up-to-date email info if you require but avoids the annoyance of being alerted too often.
