The Hotline Connect Client is a simple and elegant community application that offers cutting-edge features. It is capable of resumable downloads, real-time chat (even while you are downloading), uploading, finding and connecting to communities, delivering news, and browsing the Web with another application. The Hotline Client uses only 6MB of RAM, leaving your system resources free for multitasking. Version 1.8 introduced full QuickTime support, bug fixes, improved client stability, and better client handling of network tasks. It also added the ability to upload folders. Hotline Client 1.8.4 adds the Hotline administrator Window, allowing administrators to create, edit and delete accounts and groups on their 1.8.4 server. This version also incudes numerous bugfixes. Hotline is now a truer, richer communication and collaboration environment. Use Hotline 1.8.4 to create your online identity and explore the world of Hotline communities. This version will not expire. Our Review: Hotline Connect Server allows you to establish a Hotline server on your PC to service the needs of the many others running Hotline Client software. The server software allows you to maintain user/group accounts with custom privileges, broadcast messages, maintain a software database, and moderate discussion forums within your server. Guest accounts can be setup and ban-lists based on IP address can be enforced. Comprehensive logs are kept of connections and transfers. Hotline Connect Server is ridiculously easy to set-up and therefore will prove to be an excellent online-community server. (Hotline Client also available on Yippee).
