AutoShare, a freeware EIMS (Eudora Internet Mail Server) companion application for the Macintosh, is a list server (which distributes mail to the subscribers of discussion lists) as well as an auto-responder and a vacation notice service (which both return automated mails to users). It is robust, speedy and requires little memory. The 68K and PowerPC native server applications, tested with Mac OS 9.0, are fully scriptable and may be configured using the AutoShare Admin, an administration application with balloon help.
Our Review: AutoShare allows you to set up your EIMS mail server into a list server - allowing users to email your server and have their email shared to other addresses on your list server. This allows a newsgroup-type environment to be set up. AutoShare has a built-in MailBot to provide automated email responses (which may also include a BinHex file-attachment). This isn't an 'easy' program to set-up but comes with ample documentation and tutorials.
