Free Guard
Free Guard is a utility to hide files and folders. It is password protected at application startup. Nothing is encrypted, and someone could still make the files and folders visible without too much trouble. It is based on the "if they do not know it's there, they won't look for it" theory. Our Review: Free Guard provides a very simple method of keeping your files and folders private. All it does is make them invisible so that no-one can see them. A list is maintained of all folders under Free Guards' protection so that you can toggle their visibility individually. Free Guard is not an extension or a control panel - it is simply an application that you run when you wish to apply/unapply privacy settings. Free Guard is password protected and would be suitable for use in an environment where your 'enemies' have no knowledge of even the existance of your files or of ResEdit (which would allow the invisibility status to be changed without password). Still - simple and free!
