MP3 players

How to and tips.
Heard about MP3s and don't know what all the fuss is about? Tried
to create a collection of MP3s but are having problems finding,
downloading, or creating them? Well, have no fear, because A1
Yippee has the answer to these questions and more in our
MP3 player section.
Firstly "MP3"- what's all the fuss about?
MP3 is the abbreviated name for MPEG media file (layer 3). Basically
they are a super compressed media file (music), which is playable
in its compressed format. In the past, most music files have been
in the format of MIDI (which has pretty bad quality), or WAV (which
are waaaaaay to big to be of any use). With MP3s, music fans are
able have an extensive collection of high quality songs on their
hard drive as most songs are only 3-4 MB, depending on their quality
and song length.
"What do I do with my MP3s now that I have them?"- Well
firstly you'll need a player,
and there is a very extensive range of MP3 players in the Uippee!
MP3 Players Only section, some shareware, some freeware, and all
available for download quickly and easily. There are players catering
to wide range of MP3 user demands. If you are after a simple,
easy to use player, we suggest Winamp, one of the very first MP3
players to come out which is still updated regularly. For
the MP3 user who wants a bit more power out of their players,
then check out the like of Jet-Audio, UltraPlayer, MusicMatch
Jukebox, Winamp Lite, XingMP3 Player, Active MP3 WAV Player, Coolplayer,
extremeMP3 Player, or the awesome Sonique.
These players are skinable (i.e. you can change their appearance
by downloading a skin-see our Audio/Skins section), have the ability
to play other formats such as video, and also have the ability
to listen to music online via net-radio.
We hope that these few pointers have shed the light on entering
the world of MP3s, and remember, at A1 Yippee we are constantly
searching for the latest and greatest in MP3 player and Utility
shareware, so keep coming back. If there's anything we haven't
got that you think we should, drop us an Email and we'll do our
best to hunt it down for ya.
