Wippit! is the most comprehensive MP3 search and retrieval tool available. It allows you to search not only by artist and track title, but also by album name, track number, year and genre. Our Review: A very good concept that shows a lot of promise but fails to deliver in terms of user following and tracks available. Wippit! has a very easy to use and attractive interface and allows you to search for MP3s along a long line of category types (artist, year, album, genre, etc). The problem is that only a small amount of the most popular tracks are available (admittedly the program is very new and still in its alpha testing stage). This is a common problem with file sharing programs in their early days, but overall the quality of the program is very good. Searches occur very quickly, and you are also able to make up a wish list which tells you when the tracks you want become available (a very intuitive feature). All in all a very good effort, but it will take some time before Wippit! is able to compete with the likes of Napster, Scour, etc, in terms of quantity (which is what we all want at the end of the day).
