Our Review: Spressa is the name for Sony's new range of CD Recording devices, Spressa Play & Record is a digital music centre for your PC, featuring CD player, MP3 Ripper and CD Recorder. As you would expect from a company such as Sony, Spress Play & Record is superb, featuring a super-smart interface and great sound while still being as simple as can be. Unfortunately Spressa doesn't have the features that would have made it a big fish in the MP3 pond. Instead it is a mere minnow, featuring only 3 MP3 encoding rates, no skins, no plugins and no net radio. It is a good effort from Sony, but can't compete with the likes of HyCD and MusicMatch Jukebox.
