ACXtractor (Audio CD Xtractor) is a CD ripper (a.k.a.: audio grabber, digital audio extraction).
It lets you digitally extract ("rip") tracks from your audio compact discs and save them as CD-quality WAV files. Thereby you have an exact copy of your audio songs with no loss of quality.
If you have Lame-, Gogo-, or Blade-encoder (free MP3 conversion utility), you can convert tracks to MP3 format.
Our Review: While being a good solid concept, Audio CD Xtractor failed to impress due to the fact that it was missing crucial files that we had to download from the developer's site. Other than that, it is quite a competent ripper, it rips in WAV as the default, and if you have an encoding engine on your PC (such as Blade), it will also do MP3. You can also download an option CDDB plug-in for the program that allows you to get the track names off the internet. Not to bad, apart from the missing driver (you may already have the driver so we anticipate that most users won't run into the same sort of troubles that we did), and it is a small download for what you get.
