FirstPeer Personal Servant solves the problem of having to hunt for the people or the resources you are looking for. Rather than randomly connecting to the first avaiable host on the Gnutellanet, you can now connect to your friends and groups of users sharing similar interests. Instead of searching a large pool of resources, you are now able to refine your searches to those that match your interests with the use of groups. You can even make your own groups and invite your friends to join. The possibilities are endless!
Our Review: Oh my! Somebody's been thinking hard. One of the best concepts to come out in a long while. Most of us by now have used a Gnutella client and have also gotten frustrated at its user-UNfriendliness and many users simply don't have a clue what the whole thing is about, but FirstPeer Personal Servant sets about to change all that. Basically what it does is take all of the guess work out of file sharing, by allowing you to connect to your friends and other like-minded people so you get exactly what you want without having to search through millions of users and wasting time. You have to register with FirstPeer to get an IP address, but after that its all gravy, you simply load up the program, choose who you want to connect to and you're away. It does however require a Gnutella clone (such as Gnotella or Gnutella) so you can search and download the files themselves, but I'm sure this will all be integrated in the very near future. Brilliant and well worth a look by anyone into online file sharing, and unlike a lot of other Searchers such as Napster and Scour, this one can't be stopped!
