Guitar Synth allows you to control either the synthesiser built into your soundcard or an external synthesiser, by playing your electric guitar in real-time. Unlike a hardware guitar synthesiser, Guitar Synth does not require special pickups to be attached to your guitar. You simply attach the guitar to the microphone input of your soundcard using a simple 0.25" to 5.25mm audio adapter available from electronic and audio shops.
Our Review: This program requires a guitar to be of any use, but it does have some interesting potential. Simply plug in your guitar to your soundcard (or synth) and away you go. You can record your tracks (eventually to MIDI if you wish), watch and analyze your playing through the wicked LCD-ish display, tune your instrument, add reverb, metronome, fingerpicking mode and more - very nice indeed. It looks great, naturally and comes with a great deal of support making it perfect for all those budding guitarists out there.
