Homp3 is a freeware software MP3 player powered by the Xaudio SDK. The Xaudio decoding engine is one of the finer MP3 engines around today, together with the Nitrane decoding engine found in WinAMP 2.x, the StarDust/AE4 engine found in Sonique and the Xing decoder by Xingtech. While each of the decoding engines listed above have their own merits, only the Xaudio SDK is available freely for download and for use, that is why I have created this player based on the Xaudio SDK. Our Review: A no-fuss, simple Mp3 player designed for the no-frills user. HoMp3 has the bare minimum of features and is designed to run quickly and effectively. It may be small and simple, but it is also ugly and nowhere near as intuitive as the similarly sized Winamp Lite. Still works though, and can work quite nicely hidden away in the system tray.
