Velocity, Is a small, fast, and very differant mp3 player for your desktop. Made and released the first private version in less than 24hours. Skinable, free form, and freeware. Velocity allows you to pull apart the skin, and align it how you want. All buttons are in their own indipendent windows, and can be placed anywhere on screen, allowing you to have a tiny mp3 player in your titlebar, Or even on your taskbar, All you do is shift + drag and your set. Not only can you basicly pull the skins apart, You can also "snap" them together, and align it in any order you like. It comes packaged with 5 very differant skins just to show you the possiblities! Our Review: Velocity, like many superior players before it takes the minimalist route to playing MP3s. What you get are 4 floating skinnable control icons (open, play pause, stop) which you can move around your desktop (ooh - fun?!) as well as a system tray icon which seems totally unnecessary as it has the same menu options as the floating buttons. Other problems involve the buttons themselves, which are totally inanimate and don't include essential controls such as skip or volume, the difficult 'playlist' section which is just plain awkward and the fact that you may have to download the Visual Basic 5 runtimes to run it. Velocity was made and released in less that 24 hours and it shows - avoid like the plague.
