Music Collector is the Music edition of the Collectorz.com line of collection managers. Music Collector lets you organize your music collection; it supports music in various formats (CD, LP, MiniDisc, MP3, etc). It has full CDDB support, which lets you scan CDs in your CD-ROM drive and retrieve artist and title info from CDDB servers automatically. You can also manage your MP3 collection using the integrated MP3 Explorer; it allows quick entry of MP3 folders as albums in the database, making full use of the MP3 ID3 tag information. The albums in the database are displayed in a flexible, Explorer-like screen, letting you group, sort and filter the data in every possible way. It has a very comprehensive set of fields for both albums and tracks, including user-defined fields, enabling you to catalogue all information you want. Lists of albums or tracks can be printed in two different user configurable reports or exported to delimited text files and HTML tables. It supports both the MS CD Player and CDValet by importing from and exporting to their databases. Our Review: Music Collector is an extremely solid and attractive tool for real music fans. It allows you to keep a record of all of your CDs and other solid-state music collections (LPs, cassettes, etc), as well as MP3s. Music Collector is very easy to use, just shove in your CDs and let the CDDB integration sort them for you. You can also scan you hard drive for MP3s and they will be put into folders according to their title/artist, whatever field you want to sort them by. It has a whole heap of other functions, such as filters, refreshing, and a swag of sorting options. The interface is easy to use and fans of music should definitely give this a try.
