Ripinstein is a simple little application that allows you to rip individual tracks from audio CDROMs and save them to wav files.
Using any standard sound card Ripinstein first clones the stream, then captures the output and viola, a wav file of your selected track is produced.
Ripinstein is very small (18.5k) and works with virtually all soundcards and CDROM's
Our Review: Ripinstein offers a fairly unique CD-Ripping service by cloning and capturing the output from your CD rather than simply 'copying' the data to your hard disk. While this will please users with older CD-ROM drives that don't support direct audio extraction, they will no doubt be disappointed that this rather bare-bones application lacks many features standard in other applications including batch conversion and customisable output location.
