Our Review: With the use of digital music on the rise, desktop computers are beginning to replace the good old stereo in rooms around the world. The audio player has therefore become hugely competitive of late, offering to play your CD's, your MP3s and increasingly - radio. Whisset steps into the arena with what seems to be the generic 'my first audio player' set of tools to tempt potential customers. Funky, animated interface - check. Playlist and media library - check. Streaming audio - check. Skins and plug-ins - check, and so on. All in all Whisset does a fair job, although it does feel a little flakey to use, the menus are ugly and there aren't many add-ons available yet. While this should improve in the future, for now Whisset just doesn't quite cut all the mustard it should.
