ID3fix is an outstanding utility that you can use to automatically rename your MP3 files using the ID3 information contained within them. You can specify a scheme for naming your MP3's with fields for author, title, etc. Also included is a valuable option to add renaming functionality to the Explorer context menu for MP3's, so you can just select a bunch of MP3's, right-click, and choose "Rename Using ID3 Tag" to have them all renamed according to your specification. This program is a must-have for anyone who downloads MP3's from various sources that use different schemes to name their MP3's. No more [(author)]-#TITLE# garbage. Name your MP3's how you want them. This program is written in non-MFC Win32 C++, and should not need any additional files to run.
Our Review: Nifty little app. which can take your ID tag and rename a file accordingly. Although you can only do one at a time and it doesn't support ID3v2, you can integrate it into the right-click menu for MP3 files. It's so small you could have downloaded by now - so get cracking.
