WinMX is a FREE file-sharing program like no other. It allows you to simultaneously connect to other WinMX users based on the WinMX Peer Networking Protocol and many established networks based on the OpenNap and Napster protocols. This means MORE USERS and MORE SEARCH RESULTS than other sharing programs. WinMX also supports ANY FILE TYPE, allowing you access to a diverse assortment of shared VIDEO files as well as the usual MP3 files. Our Review: The mighty WinMX returns and continues to show us why it is the one true successor to Napster. All the robust functionality is here as always, while version 2.5 keeps you up to date with the ever-changing of world of various open-Nap servers etc. ensuring you of the best connection possible. From the transfers window you can initiate a search for similar-named files with a single click, should one of your downloads fail. And for those of you that don't want the strain of too many users downloading from you, a nifty new feature will report your connection speed as something low (eg 14k) as soon as your maximum user count is reached. THERE'S EVEN A TRANSFER SPEED GRAPH!!! A new Master Control bar incorporates the old controls in a sleek menubar (that can still be moved of course).
