Our Review: A very nice looking and competent CD ripper. AltoMP3 Maker will allow you to rip tracks from a CD to either WAV or MP3 format. It also has CDDB2 support which allows you to get all the track information you need online, and incorporates the latest LAME encoding which is quite fast and helps the tracks come out nicely. Supports a good range of MP3 bitrates (all the way up to 320Kb), and the interface is very nice looking. This latest version of AltoMP3 Maker will also decode MP3s (so that you can burn the resultant wavs to CD), and has a normalise function to keep the volume of MP3 playback at one steady volume. The whole program is very easy to use and well worth the download if you're after a ripper. Also plays CDs.
