Tactile Pictures created the Tactile12000 - software that puts a full set of DJ gear on your desktop - it is a 3-D, fully interactive, digital DJ setup - two turntables and a mixer. You can crossfade, backspin, and speed up and slow down music, including MP3 files, on your computer. Our Review: A very cool looking DJ turntable simulator that, while being less comprehensive than others, scores top marks for pure authenticity. It looks and acts like a real turntable - you don't simply "load" tracks onto the turntables, you pick them out of a pile of records and place them on the turntables. There is no play button - you have to get the turntables moving, and then place the needle in the right place, and so and and so on. It comes with a few cool features too, such as auto-mixing to tracks, tempo changing (you can even flick between 33 and 45 record speeds), and a cross fader. Plays MP3, Wav., and AIFF media files, and if you have enough processing power you can scratch the records like the best of them. Quite simpy the coolest looking audio player/mixer we've seen!
