Active MP3&WAV Player is an ActiveX control developed by MultiMedia Soft that makes easy to add sound playback capabilities to applications written with the most diffused development environments that accept ActiveX controls such as Visual Basic or Visual C++. Thanks to a set of intuitive-named methods, programmers will be able to perform sound playback using the most diffused sound formats MP3 and WAV. The MP3 playback is based on the Xaudio engine: Xaudio provides the most robust and fastest MP3 engine implementation on all platforms, and is currently being used by hundreds of thousands of people around the world. The control can also give to the programmer detailed information about the loaded sound file and is capable of retrieving the ID3V1 TAG information of MP3 files. Our Review: This application is without doubt a spectacular one for the developer. Active MP3&WAV Player is designed to allow a developer to distribute one large MP3 file with an application which consists of all sound effects needed. The aim of Active player is for the developer to call into process a specific segment of the MP3. The commands are fairly simple from a developer's point of view and the price is not overly exorbitant. On the whole, very good.
