FreeRip MP3 is a free application which let you extract audio tracks from compact discs and export them to Wav, Ogg Vorbis or MP3 audio files.
FreeRip MP3 is a free application that can record digital audio tracks directly from compact discs, without going through your sound card (this process is known as "ripping"). You can save tracks as CD-quality WAV files or encode them to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 compressed audio format.
Moreover you can encode existing 16 bit WAV files to Ogg Vorbis or MP3 format. CDDB and ID3 Tagging are supported, moreover FreeRIP MP3 integrates an installing facility for the Ogg Vorbis Plugin for Winamp. Please note: your CD-ROM drive must support digital audio extraction.
Our Review: Superb - an (effectively) free CD Ripper at last. Offering quick and easy CD-ripping with bit-rates varying from 16 to 256 Kbps, Wav-MP3 conversion one can easily put up with FreeRIP's annoying banners and inability to minimise. Not the most advanced Cd-Ripper, and not a very fast one, but still does the job nicely - a must have download for those people who just plain don't want to pay for their software.
NB. Also supports conversion to that new 'publicly owned' OGG Vorbis encoding format.
