Ray Gun automatically cleans up noisy vinyl and tape recordings and has been designed especially for easy and efficient audio archiving and restoration. All you have to do is point, aim and shoot to remove hum, hiss, pops, clicks and other unwanted audio, leaving your original sound intact. Ray Gun will search-and-destroy noise automatically. Use Ray Gun's simple controls to fine-tune the results, then process your new noise-free file. Combining sophisticated pop and click detection with complex spectral analysis, downward expansion, notch filtering and an intelligent "search" function, Ray Gun is like a sci-fi device: small, fast, fun to use and packed with devastating technology.
Our Review: Ray Gun demo comes in a variety of plug-in formats for most audio-editors, including the stand-alone HyperEngine editor available from Arboretum here on Yippee. Ray Gun attempts to remove sound-defects from, and restore sound-quality to, vinyl records. Ray Gun will remove pops, noise, and filter out rumble/hum. Levels of threshold/attenuation for the noise reduction are user-defined or can be set from a list of presets. Great to restore the charm of those old vinyl hits.
