ComCap is a simple Windows 95, 98, ME, NT4 and 2000 application
designed to capture any ASCII data received on a PC serial
communications port to a text file. Captured data is optionally shown
in a scrolling window, and may be copied to be clipboard if required.
The capture file name is automatically generated in the format
'capture-yyyymmdd.txt' in a specified directory, with a new file being
created each day, week or month.
Our Review: ComCap is a useful program for keeping a log of phone-calls made through a computer's serial port. It sits out of the way in the system tray and can be activated by a simple right click. It keeps a log of all serial port activity which would be useful for monitoring employee's phone activity or just telephone usage in general. It can be configured to run off any serial port, and you can choose from a variety of other settings such as Baud rate parity, etc.
