Enter the hours worked as well as overtime, holiday, sick leave, and other pay categories, then Payroll 2001 applies the withholding tax rates for federal, state, and city or non-city resident based on your exemptions claimed and marital status. Vary your K-plan deduction to see what percentage is right for you. Check medicare, SDI, SUI, Cafeteria Plan and social security payments. A year-to-date chart shows your week-by-week earnings and is updated with just a mouse click. The overtime chart saves your last year's pay periods and calculates overtime percentage, so that you can track whether you are pushing company limits. This is a neat little program for one or more individuals. Our Review: Payroll 2001 is a comprehensive program designed to allow employees to check for themselves whether they have been paid correctly by their employer. It takes a bit of setting up but is well worth it as Payroll 2001 can calculate not only how much you should have been taxed but also how much of your pay should have gone towards a pension fund, how much overtime you should have been awarded, and how much of your pay has gone towards a cafeteria plan or union fund. Taxes and other deductions can be customised (even on a sliding scale) and results can be tabulated week-by-week on a yearly printout. It may not be a pretty application, or a very universal one (it's made with US taxes in mind) but for the fastidious worker this Payroll 2001 could prove very useful.
