WebGenie Shopping Cart Professional is the tool to create a fully functional Electronic Commerce catalog and CGI set-up. Automatically generates catalogs and CGIs based on your product details. New catalogs or insert the cart controls into an existing web page. The CGIs, written in Perl, can be resided either on your server or on WebGenie's secure server. By default, the CGIs collect and dispatch the order as a mail to you. With a working knowledge of Perl and HTML one can customize the CGIs to suit specific purposes, e.g. alter the look and feel, store the data in a database, interface with an un-supported payment gateway, etc. Our Review: Creating your own shopping cart system, as seen in most on-line stores is no longer just a dream thanks to Shopping Cart Professional. While the program is still for those with knowledge of Perl and HTML (as there is still CGI script editing to be done), it does streamline the entire process. The interface is small, colourful and surprisingly simple with only a few buttons and fields to fill in dealing with the products, the layout of the pages to be generated and other topics such as shipping and tax. While not exactly cheap at almost US$500, for those serious about selling their wares over the web, Shopping Cart Professional will give their site a distinctively more professional feel. Highly recommended.
