PageGenie Pro is a powerful capture tool for scanner users, it applies CPR (Color Page Recognition) and/ or OCR (Optical Character Recognition) to the loaded images. The “Add” function allows the users to draw out any text or image region. This region can now be OCR’ed or added as an image region to the page. The document/image can be saved into various web documents formats: HTML, Java, Image, RTF and PDF. After the documents are processed, you can “copy/paste” or “drag/drop” your text or images onto a web page editor during the “Bridge” phase. You may also “Add”, “Select” or “Delete” any regions without altering your original page. The original page appears as a background throughout the process. (Only functions under the “ Tools” menu will alter the background image) Our Review: This is a rather handy application. Pagegenie Pro falls into the category of OCR, or 'Optical Character Recognition'. In English, that means you can use this program to scan say a page in a book and it will turn all the text on the page into a text document. That way you don't have to retype the entire page in order to get all that text into your computer. It is very easy to use and requires only a minimal knowledge of the program in order to best use it. A great timesaver all round.
