Program 602Desk creates an environment that enables easy administration of documents. However, the 602Desk program environment is not an ordinary file manager. Its main features are: · It enables an easy and well-arranged handling of documents in the classic office way without having any system knowledge of the structure of directories and files. · When handling the list of documents, you can preview the beginning of the text or picture. This means, that you can directly see frames with a couple of sentences at the beginning or small pictures instead of icons with document names. · The documents are sorted in a hierarchical way like in an office (filing cabinet - binder - envelope - document). You can run associated applications on documents. This means that if you use the mouse to click on the document created by Word, this document is opened and loaded into the MS Word processor for further processing and editing. This applies not only to text documents, but also to other types of files – pictures, HTML documents, etc. · The toolbar buttons can be used to start up other programs, such as 602Photo picture editor, Internet Explorer etc. Dragging the icon with a document name onto a suitable button starts up the application and the required operations are carried out on the document. For example, dragging the doc document icon onto MS Word button opens the document in MS Word. Our Review: Software602's alternative to Microsoft Office is brilliant in that it is extremely similar to office but totally free! Yes, you heard right. For no money down and no payments ever you get a Word Processor similar to Word, a very respectable photo editor and a great spreadsheeting program uncannily similar to Excel. While not quite as feature-packed as Microsoft Office 602Suite has all most people need, features better presentation and has no annoying animated 'assistants'. You'd have to be mad to pass this up.
