Our Review: Despite the best efforts of Windows themes, there is no better way to smarten-up your desktop than be getting rid of it all together - and this is the way to do it. Aston is a beautiful shell replacement which looks infinitely cooler than windows, and with an already impressive selection of skins avalable (you can always make your own of course) it is unlikely you'll ever get bored with the new funky look. In terms of interface Aston performs similarly to Windows Explorer, with the toolbar, system tray and icon system, although it does lose a little functionality along the way. Luckily, with an immense array of options to fiddle with you will soon more than make up for it. The best feature in my mind are the 'side menus' which pop-up when move your mouse to a certain section of the edge of the screen. Once popped up these act as further links to applications, and feature some of the biggest, boldest and wicked looking icons available. Undoubtedly a vast improvement over Windows standard, Aston also manages to be fast, smooth and incredibly easy to use, so make the most of your desktop and get it now.
