Direct Folders is a program that places a little icon button on the right side of the title bar in the standard Windows File -> Open and File -> Save dialog boxes. It also has the ability to display this button on the caption bar of Windows Explorer and Browse for folder dialog boxes. This button displays a list of commonly accessed folders, that can be also organized in the sub-menus. Clicking on any name in this list will make dialog box immediately displays the directory you want to be in. As alternative you can use Ctrl+G hotkey. It saves plenty of your time and mouse clicks when accessing your most used folders.
Our Review: Direct Folders is very handy indeed - it adds an extra button-menu to file-browsing dialog boxes that gives you more control over navigating drive contents - especially when it comes to saving or opening elusive files. Direct Folders allows you to add 'favourite' locations to its menu - meaning that any folder can be accessed with just one click. Another handy feature is Direct Folders' filter option - you can customise file masks that, when selected from its menu, will only show files in the dialog box that meet your criteria. It also adds a discrete button-menu to the Explorer interface - giving you control in almost all file-browsing situations.
