FreeDesktops is a Virtual Desktop manager for Windows95+ (Win98, Millennium...) and WindowsNT4+ (Win2000, Neptune...) Having a Virtual Desktop manager means you can subdivide the windows you have open on the screen in different "screens" called Desktops. Our Review:A handy utilty that lets you operate up to 4 desktops. It places icons in the system tray numbered one to four that you use to flick between the desktops, or give them hotkeys. The program works fine, apart from the fact that it does use up extra system resources. It can also be hard to track what is on each desktop, so it is only recommended for users who have a genuine need for such a program. |
