The Lockdesign Diagnostic Tools contain four tools designed to assist developers in tracing exactly how their programs are behaving. The tools address the following areas: Dynamic Monitoring of Program Flow; Dynamic Monitoring of Object Creation/Deletion; Profile timings; Diagnostic Reporting In addition to these four tools there are a number of IDE enhancements to assist in everyday development. These are: Indenting Tool; Add/Remove Line Numbers; Facility to close all open form and code windows with a single button click; Configuration of the code pane right click menu; Mechanism to include configurable standard pieces of text, into the code pane, from the right click menu; Clear the Immediate Window with a single button click; Automatically clear the immediate window when a project is run (VB6 Only) Our Review: Provides several diagnostic tools for Visual Basic programmers to help with debugging and testing of their applications. The tools include: a Tracer which can be used to see the exact program flow and methods called; an Object Monitor to identify and count objects being created, which is extremely useful for detecting inefficient codes; and a Profiler to analyse program performance and time spent executing specific methods.
