Geoclick is a game which is meant to help you memorize where towns, countries and other are located in a map. In each game you will have to click on the map where the requested hotspot (town, country ... ) is located. You may choose whether you want to use a blank map or a regular map. You can change and localize the hotspot name. Several maps are available for download, as well as the opportunity to browse all available maps. The game is highly customizable and is meant for several users.
This game won't replace an atlas, but it is funny and useful enough to have you improve your knowledge.
Our Review: Not a bad way of revising your geography knowledge, although the interface could use a fair bit of work before version 2.0 comes along. The manner in which you can navigate across the given map ( Europe, in this 40 use trial version - other continents are available at the developer's web-site ) is pretty stifling and can cause a fair bit of frustration. Apart from this, the geographical data supplied for Europe is fairly detailed ( countries, cities, rivers and towns ) if a little on the drab pastel side in its representation. Overall, a thumbs up from an educational point of view but a hung jury on the hopefully 'to-be-improved' interface. .
