Our Review: Unlike many other on-line communities/adventure games The Realm is easily accessible, simple and fun. The set-up was surprisingly fast, within minutes I was customising my character for the game (always the best bit, especially in The Realm where you get to mix and match facial features and body shapes, as well as species). Once inside you will discover that the old-fashioned cartoony graphics are a far cry from some of the 3D environments available, but they do the job and somehow suit the cutesiness associated with this kind of fantasy. Spells, food, weapons, towns, monsters, dexterity points - all the trappings of RPG are there at your disposable, although it seems an awful lot of the people just stand about using The Realm as a private chat room rather than 'adventuring'. Still, whatever your plans for The Realm, it should provide enough to keep you busy - at least for then first free month of subscription.
