MyReels by Stearn & DisAssociates is a free slot-machine game with an unusual -- if not particularly realistic -- interface. Although it has a large number of configurable options, changing options can be a little complicated at first. The machine is a five-wheel, compound-payline slot that uses photographs saved as .bmp files for game symbols. From the configuration menu, you can change the graphics of the symbols, and select different sound effects, background MIDI files, and
substitution symbols that offer additional payoffs, starting bank amount, and lots more variations. Most of the detail won't be apparent initially, but you can use the F1 key to access a comprehensive hyperlinked help file. You probably won't find a slots game with more options than MyReels.
Our Review: MyReels is an interesting take on the old slot-machine game. Out go the fancy graphics and in come the features - and features there certainly are. It seems that everything about MyReels is customisable, from how often it jackpots to the different winning configurations available. While these are interesting to play with, and certainly give the old slot-machine genre some much needed variety, it is the audio-visual flexibilty that will appeal to most (especially adding your own images to spin). Despite the fun one can have messing about with all the options, MyReels will always look shoddy and there is only so much fun one can have without the chance of winning any actual money (the interesting quotes that popped up with each spin soon became more fun than the game). Probably best suited to gambling fans and those who like to customise, MyReels won't cost you a dime - so why not give it a go.
