Firefight is a real-time World War II combat simulation game. You control up to ten squads of tanks, armoured cars, anti-tank guns or infantry carrying a variety of weapons. These squads can be manoeuvred around the battlefield and ordered to fire on enemy positions. In addition, you can call on the support of long range artillery fire to put down barrages of high explosive or smoke shells. Our Review:A competent clone of Close Combat from Microsoft at a much reduced price. Quite tricky to get the hang of - the troops are annoyingly preservation driven, retreat under fire, and will advance cautiously over open ground. How inconsiderate! Fun to play, pretty good graphics, and great sound effects. If you like strategic wargames then this is a recommended download. |
