After the strike of the Clark Comet in 2047 the surface of the earth was wiped clean. Only a fortunate few tens of thousands of humans survived survived, huddled in subterranean vaults and submerged installations.
Nature landed another series of blows, a twelve-year winter followed by the rapid heating of the earth’s oceans and melting of the icecaps. Water levels rose by more than 60 feet and humans remaining on land were forced to subsistence levels, eking out a meagre living in small communities.
In the sea the survivors were more fortunate. The sea floor was only slightly affected by the calamities on the surface and their computer banks of knowledge remained intact....
Our Review: Yes, swim about underwater waging war! Well, not swim, but you get the idea. This game is a cross between StarCraft and Seaquest DSV. With either the corporate White Sharks (GDI), ecologically friendly Black Octopi (NOD) and Silicons (Zerg) you get to create your own little underwater empire and wage war on the others in a post apocalyptic world, etc.The graphics are nice, with good underwater scenery, although the sprites look a little dated and don't really compare to TA:K or Red Alert 2. More disappointingly, there are no real special effects and the gameplay tends to fall a little flat; although there are LOTS of structures to build before you can actually do anything and 3 different types of resources to collect. The sound and music are average with pleasant underwater sounds and soothing music. The control sytem require lots of menu and button clicking to build things and seems a bit slow compared to Starcraft. It's interesting, but not worth a look unless you are a Submarine buff.
