Mind Benders software is an enjoyable--and very effective--resource for helping children improve their deductive reasoning. Using the clues provided, children will determine the sometimes obvious, often obscure relationships between the people, places, and things presented in each Mind Benders story. A matrix helps organize and retain information received from clues. The activities do not require a lot of reading but they do require very careful reading, helping to improve children's reading comprehension as well as deductive reasoning. Our Review: Mind Benders Level B is a demo of a deductive reasoning package from Critical Thinking. This demo serves a higher age group than the Level A demo (also on this site) . Through a series of clues you deduce the answers to a scenario involving four different children to which you must match two other attributes. This demo clearly shows how essential a tool Mind Benders would be in a child's development - the interface is clear and the skills taught will benefit a variety of problematic applications.
