What is it? Basically, this is a Windows Media Player replacement for playing, primarily, DiVX Movies, but technically almost any video format. Since version 1.7.0, the Global DiVX Player has supported subtitle playback, using MicroDVD formatted Subtitle Files. You can download subtitles here. as of version 1.8.0, subtitle support is now considered final, now support seeking, and a much more reliable tracking system, including automatic FPS rate detection. Many thanks to Nasko Vassilev for the subtitles code. The Global DiVX Player uses MUCH LESS CPU Resources than Windows Media Player, so if DiVX Movies play skippily on your computer, or have trouble staying in sync, give this a shot. This isn't going to work miracles, but it might help those of you who are right on the borderline, especially K6/K6-2 based machines. Also, one of the coolest looking divx and other movie format capable players with subtitles support :) Our Review: GDivX is the Winamp of the video world. Small, fast, easy and oozing quality GDivX comes complete with a simple and attractive (if a little dark) interface and all the basic features of a video player as well as VCD and subtitle support. Great for those who don't want to put up with the memory-hungry beast that is Windows Media Player - recommended. This 'complete' version contains the DiVX codec (necessary to play DiVX movies) and the visual basic libraries that the Lite version lacks.
