Real2Virtual Tile Designer allows anyone to create Escher-like tiles and tiling patterns quickly and easily. To design a tile is simple, choose from one of 6 generic tile types and then add points to create a complex tiling shape. Tile designer constantly monitors your design moving points to ensure the shape is always a perfect tile. At any stage you may see the tile in a tiling pattern and modify the look of the tiling. Tiles may be exported for use as seemless "wallpaper" backgrounds for use on your windows desktop or for stunning web-page backgrounds. The program is free to use for 60 days, and only US$18 to register. The package includes example projects and extensive documentation. Registered users receive free online support. Our Review: Great for kids, Tile Designer is an Escher tile maker; tiles that fitted together by positioning, rotating and flipping them about. The hardest part is getting the points right as moving a point moves the corresponding point so the tiles always fit - very well done. Good examples are provided. There are a few tweaks to be made; a few final drawing errors and specifying output, but otherwise a good background maker.
