An illustrated collection of poems. Written in imagistic style, the poems are both metaphysical and descriptive of trees and leaves and are photographically illustrated by the author, a former photojournalist and editor (as well as a published poet). This e-book will let you discover an other world where poetry is not only words that the poet re-arrange to convey a mental picture but it could be real pictures. The concept behind this e-book is that Ms Hart has supplied so much beautiful pictures and poems that it would have been a shame to distract the reader by multimedia effects.
Our Review: The Illustrated Book of Trees is not as you would imagine an e-book full of descriptions and pictures of trees It is in fact a poetry book. Well I can't vouch for the quality of the poems but the author Louise Hart was dubbed the new Emily Dickinson by the editor of Mustang Review, a prestigious imagistic poetry journal, for her poem, "Snow". Personally I don't much like the quasi-religious aspect to the whole thing and she is very wrong when she talks about the 'laws of nature' for scientists haven't called them laws for a long time. They are theories and so replacable by better theories.
