Approach the skies with this accessible and easy-to-use 32-bit planetarium. Adastra's varied and powerful functions are a significant subset of the acclaimed astronomy shareware package Stella 2000, offering highly realistic views of the night sky from any place on Earth or point in time. Adastra presents an intuitive toolbar-driven interface promoting flexible manipulation of its real-time sky display, with efficient center, zoom, unzoom, directional and panning functions.
Our Review: This is a very well presented astronomy program containing information about 'nearly every star in the sky'. Estimate your exact position on earth (or if you know the latitude and longitude you can use that) and it displays a picture of the night sky from that perspective at a certain time. Then select the 'animate' option to watch the sky spin as time advances. Another feature allows a star search to find the position of a star, and the dates and times that you can see it. This is a top quality freeware astronomy program with a great interface - recommended for anyone with even a mild interest in astronomy.
