dObjects is an astronomical database and observing log program which runs under Windows 95 and Windows NT. It includes a database of over 34,000 astronomical deep-sky objects. In addition to the standard observing information about the objects, dObjects' database includes references to popular astronomical magazines, books, and internet resources, information you have about objects within your computer, and the Internet. A Web Services feature lets you view the digitized Palomar Sky Survey easily, and communicates with other servers keeping you up-to-date on the most recent web references to objects. An extremely flexible means of object selection, sorting, and reporting make dObjects the ideal tool for planning observing sessions, logging your observations and finding information about the objects of interest to you.
Our Review: Wow! Deep Sky Objects have never been so interesting or well catalogued as they are with dObjects. Almost every possible observation of distant stars, andromedas and nebulas have been recorded and been put onto a huge database with sitings, information, references and links to URLs with pictures of the stars. Just type in the name of your star or cluster (eg. M31) and it will look it up and show you all of the relevant information. Once you start using the program you get to add your own entries too! Well worth the $59!
